Creating these paintings is a sacred process to me. I completely clear my mind of thoughts and look at your photo in order to connect with your essence, once that connection is made I then say a short prayer calling for a connection with your guides then enter a deep meditation for twenty minutes. In my minds eye, I see, converse with and interact with your guide or guides. One or more of your angels, relatives, master teachers and/or spirit guides will appear in a movie like vision. After I receive the images I write down a description of what I saw, heard and felt then give you the description and at that point you decide which size painting you would like to purchase. I paint an image like the ones on this page of what I see; sometimes it is a single portrait and other times it is a scene or various scenes; I leave it up to spirit to guide me.

MY JOURNEY:

1999 marked the year of my first conscious connection with the angelic realm through a most powerful dream (described on the Angel Page). Then in May of 2001, I had a psychic reading that changed my life when I was told that I would be able to have visions of spirits! Any prior skepticism I had about the psychic was dismissed as she began to speak about my father who had recently crossed over. It was a very powerful experience for me; during the reading, I would think a question and he would answer through her, I would feel something and he would respond to it through her. At one point I was wondering what it was like where he was and he said “I don't think you really know what it is like over here”, as if he were inviting me to learn about it. Then the medium said “oh, your spirit guide is here, telling you that you have the ability to see, you will be given a vision, do not to be afraid.” She explained that we all have spirit guides and angels that watch over us and that some are with us for our whole life and others come and go.

This was the beginning of a new chapter in my life. A New Possibility...Hearing from my father and connecting with my guide was so moving that I immediately called my psychic angel friend Sharon D. Anderson when I got home, “wouldn’t it be amazing if I could actually see and paint angels and spiritual guides for people?! How crazy is it that we are all surrounded by guides and angels but we never see them? How great would it be if we had an image of them to focus on and connect with especially throughout the difficult times in our lives?” At that time I did not think it possible, but she did and encouraged me to try it. Ask and You Shall Receive....I began creating spirit paintings for friends and family. I would begin each session with a simple short and direct prayer (ask and you shall receive) connecting with God and then calling upon their angels and guides to present clear images for me to paint. Images instantaneously appeared in my mind’s eye. It was like watching a movie, but part of me felt that my subconscious mind might be “making it up”.

I began painting for people I had not met before and was amazed that I was seeing things for which there were no logical explanations. I painted over two hundred and fifty beautiful & unique personal paintings in two years and the more I painted the deeper and more intense the process became for me. As my intuitive abilities expanded, I became more and more sensitive to others’ feelings and perceptions, doubts and fears. I would feel exhausted after finishing a painting and became more and more reluctant to begin the next. Overwhelmed, I took a break from my spiritual artwork and went back to painting easy and more comfortable subject matter like seascapes and portraits.

Improving the Process....

“Comfortable” is a choice of being not of doing. When I focus on being peaceful then I gravitate immediately and naturally to creating spiritual art that makes a difference in the lives of others. January 2007 I began creating a series of paintings based on spiritual transformation and world peace to be shown in gallery exhibits throughout New England . And out of the blue, in just one week in March, after almost three years without, I received five separate requests for Spirit Paintings! I sat with the decision to begin again and came up with a better way of creating them. By using only a photo of the individual and by creating their painting undisturbed in my studio I have far greater ease and clarity. My whole experience has been transformed and I am so grateful to be back to the amazing connections with these beautiful beings. Angels are the most frequent messengers now and several clients have experienced healings simultaneously during the vision process.

In 2010 I took classes on usimg Akashic Records in readings and now use this technique when I create these paintings. The images appear much more clearly and information is transferred in greater detail as well. It has definitely enhanced the process for me.

Nancy ’s Guardian Monk....August 2001

This was one of my first experiences and is still one of my favorite encounters that cemented my faith not only in the process but more importantly, in the actual existence of our spiritual guardians.

I arrived at Nancy ’s home and after talking briefly, we both sat quietly together and asked to see a clear image of her angel or guide.  The first image I was shown was of a huge oak tree to the left, with an enormous bough reaching overhead and huge roots stretching down into the earth.  The surface roots were blanketed with small purple flowers that ran down a shallow embankment and there in a field below was a monk in brown robes looking for something on the ground.  I laughed a little watching him busily look around.  His energy seemed funny, happy, peaceful and sweet.  As his image came closer into view, I could see he was balding with a mustache and trimmed beard.  In his right hand he held a golden shepherd’s crook and in his left hand a bunch of white daisies (may have been what he was looking for).  Recanting to Nancy what I had seen, I opened my eyes to find her jaw dropped! 

She began to tell me how two years ago she was going through a divorce and on one particular day was very upset and driving to her counselor’s office when something caught her eye in the rear view mirror. As she looked back she saw a hooded figure in the back seat! She quickly looked away and became more upset, thinking that now she was loosing her mind. She looked a second time and he had taken the hood off…it was a monk! She looked a third time and all of her fear disappeared as his kind eyes filled her with peace. He was wearing a hooded robe and had a mustache and beard.

She told me that she had contacted me to see if he would come through me for her so that she would finally know that she was not crazy.  We were both truly amazed.  She also identified with the huge oak tree from her childhood as the tree she used to hug when she would play. She later found out that the oak tree is part of her family crest on her mother’s side.  Daisies had not only been in her wedding bouquet but had also been the first flowers her husband had ever given her.

I am not sure who was affected more by these appearances, who’s faith was deepened more, or who was more thankful.  They are really there and from what I’ve experienced, eager to connect with us and so happy to come through.  Just close your eyes and ASK!

The Power Of Prayer.....August 2002

I recently had the honor of sharing an incredibly inspiring moment with a woman I had never met who had come to me for a spirit guide painting.  This experience profoundly affected my views and has become my favorite wakeful adventure thus far (that I can recall) into the world of spirit.  I have shared this story with others and with you now in the hopes of inspiring you and reminding you to pray more for others.  To remind you that your prayers are needed and are received with unending gratitude and love.

I sat quietly with my client after having asked her angels and guides to present me with a clear image in my mind’s eye to paint for her.   Initially I saw various images and then began to notice a black area forming on the left side of my internal vision screen.   My first thought was “Ooooo, that’s really black, and a little scary!” But I remembered that I am totally protected while doing my work and I have absolutely nothing to fear.  With that, I welcomed in the blackness and soon it was all I could see.  It was totally void of any light; no reflections, no shades of darkness, just the pitch solid blackest black I had ever seen.  As I marveled at how black it was, I began to see a pale blue shimmering light fading through the darkness in the upper right side of my vision.  As I focused on this light I realized I was now on the other side of the dark area, it was like another dimension or void of some sort.  As I refocused on the darkness I then saw the heads and shoulders of thousands of beings rising up out of the black with white doves here and there bursting into white light as they rose also.  I immediately thought of the prayer that my friend George Arnos had told me about in the Angelspeake workshop I had attended last year.  There is a special prayer said by Catholics to release souls from Purgatory, George loved to say it because he knew that not only did he help all of these trapped individuals out but also he explained that they in turn would now pray for him.  

Within the vision, as I thought I was possibly looking at Purgatory, I immediately connected with an explosion of love and gratitude from these thousands and thousands of people.  The intensity was so overwhelmingly beautiful that I began to sob. Gradually I controlled the emotions enough to open my eyes.  “You say that prayer that releases souls from Purgatory, don’t you!?” I blurted out.   In surprise, she replied, “Yes, I say it everyday after I say the Rosary!”  “Well, I just felt and witnessed the thousands of souls you have helped by doing that….and they flood you with love and gratitude for your help.” 

We were both so greatly and gratefully affected by this experience.  I for the first time in my life was able to see and feel the power of prayer.   From talking to Karen after, I believe that she was equally affected by now knowing the impact of her dedication.
